Healthy Oral Hygiene Habits to Practice
Brushing can be fun especially when you know your child is doing it right! It’s important to know that sugary foods and liquids target new teeth, so here is a list of good oral hygiene habits you and your child should practice when their first tooth erupts:
- Examine your child’s teeth every two weeks to make sure their teeth are progressing well. If any lines and discoloration due to decay are apparent, contact our dental practice immediately so our dentists can assess future steps.
- Make sure your child is brushing at least two to three times a day for optimal oral hygiene including after each meal and before bed.
- Brush with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.
